“Japan has a level of knowledge and precision in manufacturing that few can match“
Cooperation with R & K opened the door to the Japanese high precision production.
Thomas Lundberg, strategic buyer at FLIR says:
- FLIR develops and produces infrared cameras. A few years ago we began the search for parts with higher mechanical precision. We consulted
R&K TECH with their very long experience in Japan, and their network within the Japanese industry. The result was a number of key parts and precision lenses that enabled significant improvement of our products.
Interpreter for the technology and business issues - R&K TECH began a structured preparatory work in Japan, and used their experience of being able to express themselves "in Japanese business manners" to achieve progress. This proved to be of conclusive benefit to us.
Together with R&K we later visited Japan, and the doors were now open for us in a completely different way. We found that the end result even could surpass our greatest expectations.
Our precision requirements allow only a few producers in the world being capable to deliver - We are also working with European suppliers, but the precision requirements on certain details of the lenses are so high that there are clear advantage of being made in Japan. R&K’s partner also have the ability to maintain an exceptionally high quality. Not only in single sample detail accuracy, but more important, in exceptionally stable volume with repeatability over time. This is our conclusive judgement despite our already very demanding standards.
- Together we now deliver top class lenses in terms of both precision and quality. Our continued cooperation has also provided positive business opening in other fields of technology.
